Cette typologie de faïences va au-delà de la simple fonction protectrice et hygiéniste.

En effet, le but était de réinvestir et d’adapter les diverses propriétés de la faïence aux objets de la cuisine dit « transitoires » tels que la carafe d’eau, la passoire et la planche à découper.

En déportant ces objets au mur de la cuisine cela leur confère une fonction à l’état « non actif » due à la finition émaillée. De plus, on apporte une unification entre les murs et les objets de la cuisine ainsi qu’une proximité entre les outils et le corps. 

The proprerties of earthenware extra to be hygienic and to protect are compatible with the transitory kitchen objects as for example a water pitcher, a cutting board, a stainer.

The goal was to deport those objects on the wall of the kitchen to create a earthenware utensil  and obtain a homogenous surface between the wall of the kitchen and the utensils do as to improve the proximity of the utensils with the body.
